Handmade crochet pieces are made with love — and with a little care, they can stay beautiful for years.
Here’s how to keep your ZhenZhi pieces in their best shape.
Washing
Hand wash is best. Use cool or lukewarm water and a gentle soap (baby shampoo or wool wash works great).
Don’t scrub or twist. Gently squeeze the water through the fibers.
Machine washing? If you must, use a mesh laundry bag and select the delicate cycle with cold water.
Drying
Never put crochet items in the dryer. Heat can shrink or distort the fibers.
Lay flat to dry. Roll the item in a towel to remove excess water, then lay it flat on a drying rack or clean towel. Reshape gently while it’s still damp.
Storing
Fold, don’t hang. Hanging can stretch out crochet pieces over time.
Keep in a cool, dry place. Avoid direct sunlight for long periods, which can fade colors.
Removing Pills (Little Fuzz Balls)
Use a fabric shaver or carefully trim with small scissors. This is normal for natural fibers — it doesn’t mean the quality is poor.
A Note on Love
Handmade items wear differently than factory-made ones. They soften over time. They carry the memory of use. That’s not damage — that’s character.
With proper care, your ZhenZhi piece can be passed down, just like the tradition it came from.
